Caisi 70cm Foldable Octa Softbox with Bowens Mount & Grid

The Caisi 70cm Foldable Octa Softbox with Bowens Mount & Grid is a compact and versatile lighting modifier designed for photographers, videographers, and content creators who need soft, even, and controllable illumination. Its 70cm octagonal design provides a broad light source, while the Bowens mount makes it compatible with a wide range of Bowens-mount studio lights and LED lighting fixtures.

The included honeycomb grid provides additional control over light spill, allowing the photographer to direct the illumination more precisely. The foldable construction also makes the softbox convenient for storage and transportation, particularly for photographers who work both in the studio and on location.

Quick Verdict

The Caisi 70cm Octa Softbox combines a 70cm octagonal light-shaping surface, Bowens mount, foldable construction, and honeycomb grid in one lighting modifier.

Its octagonal shape provides broad, soft illumination, while the grid helps control spill and create more directional lighting. The foldable design makes it practical for both studio and location photography.

Why Choose Caisi 70cm Octa Softbox?

The Caisi 70cm softbox is designed for users who want a relatively compact modifier without giving up the benefits of an octagonal softbox and grid.

Key advantages include:

• 70cm octagonal softbox design
• Bowens mount compatibility
• Foldable construction
• Honeycomb grid included
• Inner and outer diffusion panels
• Reflective silver interior
• Broad and soft light distribution
• Additional control over light spill
• Suitable for photography and video
• Convenient for studio and location setups

70cm Octa Softbox Design

The 70cm octagonal shape creates a broad lighting surface that helps distribute light more evenly across the subject.

An octagonal softbox can also produce rounded or octagonal catchlights when positioned in front of a subject, making this shape particularly useful for portrait, beauty, and fashion photography.

The 70cm size provides a practical balance between light coverage and portability. It can be useful where a larger modifier would take up too much space, particularly in smaller studios or location-based setups.

Bowens Mount Softbox

The Caisi 70cm uses a Bowens mount, allowing it to attach to compatible Bowens-mount studio lighting equipment.

Bowens mounting systems are widely used across photography and video lighting equipment. The Caisi softbox can therefore be paired with compatible studio flashes, COB LED lights, and continuous lighting fixtures that use a matching Bowens mounting system.

Before purchasing, confirm that your specific lighting fixture has a compatible Bowens mount.

Foldable Softbox Design

The foldable construction makes the softbox easier to set up, transport, and store compared with rigid lighting modifiers.

The Caisi 70cm design can be collapsed when not in use, making it more convenient for photographers who move between different locations. Similar Caisi 70cm listings specify a foldable design and carrying bag for transportation.

This makes it suitable for both permanent studio setups and mobile photography kits.

Honeycomb Grid for Light Control

The included honeycomb grid helps control the spread of light coming from the softbox.

With the grid attached, the light becomes more directional and unwanted spill can be reduced. This can be useful when the photographer wants to illuminate the subject without spreading excessive light onto the background or surrounding areas.

The grid can therefore be particularly useful in controlled portrait, product, and studio lighting setups.

Inner and Outer Diffusion

The Caisi 70cm configuration is listed with inner and outer diffusion panels. These diffusion layers help spread the light across the softbox surface and create softer illumination.

Using diffusion can reduce the harshness of a direct light source and create smoother transitions between highlights and shadows. The final lighting result depends on the attached light, its distance from the subject, and the position of the softbox.

The inner and outer diffusion panels are listed as included with this configuration.

Silver Reflective Interior

The interior of the Caisi 70cm softbox uses a reflective silver surface designed to direct more of the light toward the diffusion panels.

A reflective interior can help make efficient use of the light emitted by the attached fixture. The final output depends on the power and characteristics of the light source being used.

The Caisi 70cm product listing specifically identifies a silver reflective interior.

Soft and Even Light

The main purpose of an octa softbox is to transform the output of a compatible light source into a broader and softer light source.

The Caisi 70cm softbox spreads the light across its diffusion surface, helping create smoother illumination compared with a bare light source.

This can be useful when the photographer wants to reduce harsh shadows and create a more controlled transition between illuminated and shadowed areas.

Suitable for Portrait Photography

The 70cm octagonal design is well suited to portrait photography.

The broad diffusion surface can provide soft illumination across the subject, while the octagonal shape can create attractive catchlights.

The honeycomb grid can also be added when more precise control over the direction of the light is required.

It can be used for:

• Portraits
• Headshots
• Beauty photography
• Fashion photography
• Editorial photography
• Personal branding photography

Useful for Product Photography

The Caisi softbox can also be used for product photography where controlled and diffused lighting is required.

The broad surface can help illuminate products evenly, while the grid provides an additional way to restrict light spill.

For reflective products, the final result depends on the product material, camera position, light placement, diffusion, and other modifiers used in the setup.

Suitable for Video Production

The Caisi 70cm softbox can be paired with compatible Bowens-mount continuous lighting equipment for video production.

It can provide softer key lighting for:

• YouTube videos
• Interviews
• Talking-head videos
• Product videos
• Livestreams
• Social media content
• Studio video
• Commercial video

The honeycomb grid can be used when more directional control is needed.

Useful for Small and Medium Studio Setups

A 70cm softbox can be practical when working in a smaller studio or limited shooting space.

Compared with very large softboxes, its smaller footprint can make positioning easier while still providing a relatively broad light source.

Its foldable design also makes it convenient to remove from the setup and store when the studio space is needed for other purposes.

Studio and Location Photography

The Caisi 70cm softbox is suitable for both studio and mobile setups.

In a studio, it can be used as a key, fill, or secondary light modifier depending on the lighting arrangement. For location work, the foldable construction makes it easier to transport between shooting locations.

Versatile Lighting Modifier

The softbox does not produce light itself. Instead, it modifies the output of the compatible light attached to its Bowens mount.

It can be paired with compatible:

• COB LED lights
• Continuous LED lights
• Studio flashes
• Bowens-mount studio lights
• Other compatible Bowens lighting fixtures

Always verify the mounting compatibility and ensure the light stand can safely support the combined equipment.
